These slides correspond to the invited Keynote Speech of Prof. Andres Iglesias at the 4th International Conference on Advances in Computational Science and Engineering, ICACSE’2024, held in Manila, Philippines, 16-17 December 2023. The talk, entitled “Swarm Intelligence for Shape Reconstruction in the Context of the European Project PDE-GIR: Recent Advances and Future Trends”, explored some of the most outstanding advances achieved in the PDE-GIR project, focusing on the application of swarm intelligence methods to shape reconstruction. The discussion encompassed diverse academic, professional, and industrial domains, including computer-assisted design and manufacturing, computer animation, computer vision, medical imaging, and swarm robotics. Additionally, the presentation talked about future trends and potential avenues for further research in this exciting field.
